With a solid background in statewide campaigns, legislative research and media relations skills, Brendan joined Weber Merritt in 1999 to manage field operations for several client initiatives. Over the years, his experience and expertise managing national grassroots campaigns on behalf of corporations, trade associations and NGOs has provided a valued resource to Weber Merritt’s client base. He oversees day-to-day field operations for Weber Merritt clients and maintains solid relationships with political operatives from both major parties in every state throughout the U.S.
Prior to Weber Merritt, he was Deputy Director of Field Operations for the 1998 Maryland gubernatorial campaign of Ellen R. Sauerbrey (R), the state’s former Republican National Committeewoman. Previous to this, the National Republican Senatorial Committee sent Brendan to Alabama in 1996 to work on the successful U.S. Senate race of Jeff Sessions, where he maintained daily contact for radio news directors throughout the state, produced radio news releases on a daily basis and distributed them to radio news outlets throughout Alabama.
Other highlights of Brendan’s public affairs and political experience include working on the government affairs staff for student loan service provider USA Group, Inc., serving on the campaign staff of former Congresswoman Helen Delich Bentley (R-MD), and an internship on Capitol Hill with then-Congressman and former Maryland Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
